The Wedding Show

At

Park Place Event Centre

Sunday, March 9th, 2008

This was my first time participating in The Wedding Show at Park Place Event Centre.  There were about 40 vendors participating in this event and about 300 people attended the event.  Park Place is such a beautiful and elegant setting for any special occasion.

Music by harpist, Susan Sinnett greeted the guests in the lobby as they arrived.  During the afternoon music was also played in the lobby by Mick Staebell and  Aaron Hansen. The Washington St. Brass Quintet and Dancers from Faythe Kubik Productions entertained the guests in the ballroom. Wine and Hors D’oeuvres were served throughout the afternoon.  There were style shows, drawings and prizes given away during the afternoon.

I took 6 cake flavors: Classic White, Italian Cream, Kahlua Chocolate, Lemon, Southern Peach, and Tiramisu and 4 cake ball flavors:  Coconut, Kahlua Chocolate, Pink Champagne and Tequila Rose.

I received many compliments on the taste and how moist all of my cakes were.  Everyone loved the cake balls and, for many, it was the first time they had tasted a cake ball.  I took 28 dozen and not one was left.

Cakes by George Display

I chose 5 dummy cakes for my display table plus 8x10 cake photos of several wedding cakes.  I also had a table on the left side on which I had my six cakes, plates, napkins and forks.  I placed 8X10 photos of cakes  in front of the cakes so people could view the cakes while I was serving their choice of flavor.

The cake balls were placed on a table placed at the intersection of the two display tables.
