A GARDEN WEDDING
This Sunflower Wedding Cake was for a Garden Wedding. The setting was a Victorian house surrounded by beautiful grounds and trees. Several peacocks roamed the grounds during the ceremony and reception.
Chairs for the guests attending the ceremony were set up on one side of the house where the wedding party arrived in a horse drawn carriage and proceeded down the aisle to the steps of the front porch where the ceremony took place.
Following the ceremony the guests moved around the house to enjoy a catered dinner. As you can see in the first picture, the wedding cake table was set up under a beautiful tree to avoid the sun. The tables and chairs were set up over the beautiful green lawn with many beautiful old trees providing shade for the guests during the dinner.
The four-tiered Sunflower Wedding Cake was made to serve 150 guests.
The tiers were yellow cake with strawberry filling covered with ivory buttercream.
For some reason I do not have a picture of the top tier alone. It was decorated similar to the other tiers with the porcelain cake topper being surround with gumpaste roses and daisies.
