JANUARY – CAKE OF THE MONTH

 

 

WINTER CANDLE

 

This candle is made from two 6-inch layers and one 6-inch contour layer placed on top.

The cake was iced with buttercream icing.  Some buttercream icing thinned down was drizzled over the top to resemble melted wax running down the sides of the candle. 

Trees and snowflakes were cut from a fondant/gumpaste mixture, dusted with super pearl dust and steamed.  They were attached to the sides with dabs of buttercream.

The flame was made from gumdrop candy and a toothpick was inserted at the bottom to hold it upright on the cake.
