CAKE OF THE MONTH - MAY 2007
 
 
Mother's Day
 
This Mother's Day cake was covered with pink buttercream and smoothed to resemble fondant.  A deeper shade of pink was used to pipe the tip 16 scrolls around the sides and also the tip 129 bottom border.  Pink and yellow gumpaste roses and leaves adorn the top.  A pink heart with a gold foil Mother is placed on a white lacey heart.  A sugar molded butterfly completes the design.
 
The local radio station invited its listeners to send in a letter telling why their mother should be picked to receive a collection of prizes for Mother's Day.  This cake was one of the prizes.  The mother selected received many gifts including this cake, silver earrings, a floral arrangement, a gift basket from the local winery, a massage, a certificate for 2 hour house cleaning plus other gifts from local businesses.
