FORTIETH ANNIVERSARY CAKE

 

 

            This Fortieth Anniversary Cake is a 4-tiered cake to serve 150 guests.  The tiers were covered with ivory buttercream icing.  The borders were piped with tip 140 and were accented with strands of white pearls.  Scrolls decorated the sides of each tier and were piped with tip 16.

 

            The sizes of the tiers were 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch.  The flavors were Carrot/Bavarian; Kahlua fudge/Bavarian; Kahlua fudge/raspberry; and White/strawberry.

 

            Gumpaste floral sprays of frangipani and roses in pastel colors adorned the base tier.  The second and third tiers displayed gumpaste floral sprays of frangipani in pastel colors.  The top tier featured a gumpaste bow which had been airbrushed with a mixture of super pearl dust and vodka.
