George Fowler

George Fowler - Bass Soloist

Several years teaching experience as a vocal music teacher in public and parochial schools in Iowa and Illinois.

Private instruction in voice, piano and organ.

Taught at the college level with graduate assistantships in music education and voice while working towards a Master of Arts degree in vocal performance at Western Illinois University.

Church soloist

Director of community concerts.

Master of Arts degree in vocal performance Western Illinois University studying voice under Dr. Joseph K. Meyers and Violette Meyers.

Organist and/or choir director in Iowa, Illinois and California.

Summer 2017 thru Summer 2018 studied voice with Dr. Nicholas Miguel at Grinnell College and also sang in the Grinnell Oratorio Society Chorus.

Fall 2018 Continued studying voice with Dr. Nicholas Miguel at Grinnell College and to sing with the Grinnell Oratorio Society Chorus.

George Fowler, Bass

George studied and performed operatic roles at the Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for seven summer seasons under Dr. Isaac Van Grove, Artistic Director. He received a "Certificate of Merit of the Inspiration Fine Arts Colony, Inc." in recognition of fulfillment of the high standards of musical study and performance during four seasons of attendance at Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony on July 28, 1972. Roles performed include Sculptor-Monk in Massenet's "Juggler of Notre Dame", Sancho Panza in Massenet's "Don Quixote", Masetto in "Don Giovanni" by Mozart, Dr. Bartolo and Antonio in "The Marriage of Figaro", Colline in "La Boheme", Father in "The Childhood Miracle" by Ned Roem, Francis Nurse in "The Crucible" by Robert Ward. Other operatic experience includes appearing in operatic productions at Drake University, the University of Iowa, Western Illinois University, Oklahoma City University, Peoria Civic Opera in Peoria, Illinois and Simpson College at Indianola, Iowa.

1981-82 Board member Huntington Park Symphony Assoc. and Scholarship Chairman.

1982-83 Scholarship Chairman and Publicity Chairman Huntington Park Symphony Assoc.

President of the Huntington Park Symphony Association 1984-86.
